Feast of St. Elizabeth 2026: Standing With Our Needy Patients
On Tuesday, 17 November, St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital celebrates the feast of our patron with Morning Mass, health screening and contributions from every unit to support genuine needy patients at discharge.

First and foremost, we give thanks to Almighty God for bringing us together in good health, fellowship, and joy to honor our patron saint.
On Tuesday, 17 November 2026, St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital, Hwidiem, celebrates the Feast of St. Elizabeth, the patron of our hospital.
We encourage all units and departments to contribute towards building the genuine needy fund at St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital. The fund helps genuine needy patients when they are due to be discharged, and it is our way of living out the charity our patron is remembered for.
Programme for the day
- 7:00 am: Morning Mass to give thanks for our patron, our patients and the work of the hospital. Mass starts at 7:00 am prompt.
- Presentation of contributions from all units, set aside to support needy patients at discharge.
- 8:00 am to 3:00 pm: Health screening at the hospital, with blood pressure checks, blood glucose monitoring and breast cancer screening.
Who was St. Elizabeth?
St. Elizabeth of Hungary lived from 1207 to 1231. Though she was born a princess, she gave her wealth to the poor, built a hospital and cared for the sick with her own hands. She is the patron saint of hospitals, nurses and Catholic charities, and the Church celebrates her feast on 17 November.
Her example is the reason our hospital bears her name, and the reason this year’s feast is centred on patients who need a helping hand.
Join us
Staff, patients, friends of the hospital and the wider community are all welcome to join the celebration.
Donations
Donations from the various units and departments will be collected after the Mass.
